Overview
Salvatore Scifo
Salvatore Scifo is the Editor of CommunityMedia.eu and a PhD candidate
at the Communication and Media Research Institute (CAMRI), University of
Westminster where he is researching on the development of Community
Radio in the UK (1997-2006). He has been a Visiting Lecturer in Media
Studies from 2005 to 2007 at the same institution and is a former
Lecturer in Community Media at the Department of Applied Social
Sciences, London Metropolitan University (2007-8). Before the start of
his academic career he was Deputy Station Manager at Siena's University
Radio station, ‘Facoltà di Frequenza’, Italy, from 2001-2004.
He is a former member of the Executive Committee of MeCCSA’s
Postgraduate Network (2005-2007) and current board member of the Radio
Studies Network and the Community Media Forum Europe, as well as member
of Radio Research section of ECREA. He his also the Online Editor of the
journals Westminster Papers in Communication and Culture (WPCC) and
Interactions: Studies in Communication & Culture, and member of the international
editorial board of the Journal of Radio and Audio Media.
