Keynote speakers include: Elizabeth Grosz (Rutgers, USA), Elihu Katz (Hebrew University, Jerusalem and Annenberg School, USA), Jostein Gripsrud (Bergen, Norway), Ian Diamond (Chief Exec. ESRC).

Major plenary on The Future of Film with the Film Council, including Patrick Fuery (Sussex, UK), John Hill (Ulster, UK), Mark Jancovich (Nottingham, UK) chaired by Christine Geraghty (Glasgow, UK).

Establishment of the Postgraduate Network in Media, Communications and Cultural Studies.

MeCCSA is a non-thematic conference, and the major national forum for the most recent research in our field. We welcome proposals for papers or panels that can demonstrate research excellence. Deadline for submissions in the form of abstracts up to 750 words: 26 September 2003 to meccsa2003@sussex.ac.uk.

All abstracts to be submitted electronically in the following format:
