The MeCCSA Practice Section champions practice within the Media Communications and Cultural Studies Association, ensuring that those that teach and research practice have a strong voice within the subject association and beyond. We are dedicated to maintaining and developing links with the creative industries and relevant national and international networks and associations. The Practice Section supports and publicises events at which media practice is presented, particularly those in which the contexts of practice research, practice pedagogy and professional practice are foregrounded.
The Practice Section will disseminate regular information through the MeCCSA JISCmail Expressions of interest for future events have been received by from a variety of institutions, including Brighton, and Bournemouth (on interactive narrative). Hopefully, two events will be held at Derby in 2010 (one on music video, one on new media and narrative). Further information will be published on this site when details will be confirmed. The Section is also in the initial stages of developing a resource about the skills of its members, with the intention to build up a database that can be utilised for consultancy purposes. If you wish to host an event at your institution with the support of the Practice Section, or for any further information about Section's activities, please contact the Chair, Jason Lee . | ||||||||
