Welcome to MeCCSA, the subject association that represents all who teach or research in Higher Education in media, communications and cultural studies, whether in arts, humanities or social sciences departments.

Nominations open for MeCCSA Awards 2024

Nominations for the MeCCSA Awards 2024 are now open, with a deadline of midday Monday 5th February 2024.

To recognise outstanding research in the fields of media, communication, and cultural studies, MeCCSA is presenting annual awards in the following categories:

  • Journal Article of the Year
  • Monograph of the Year
  • Edited Collection of the Year
  • Practice Based Research of the Year
  • Doctoral Research of the Year

We are now inviting nominations for outputs published / released in public domain or doctoral research completed in 2023. 

Nominations will be reviewed by a panel appointed by the MeCCSA Executive Committee who will decide the shortlists, and make one award per year for each category. All MeCCSA Awards will be announced at the Annual Conference held in September.

Deadline and nominations

  • Nominations must be submitted via the online submission form: https://forms.office.com/e/DHbNs0HrVs
  • Deadline for all nominations is midday Monday 5th February 2024.
  • The shortlist for each category will be announced late April 2024.
  • Successful Awards will be announced on Thursday 5th September 2024, at the Annual MeCCSA Conference Awards Ceremony.
