MeCCSA Postgraduate Network Conference Postponed Until September 2021

We are disappointed to announce that the MeCCSA Postgraduate Network Annual 2020 conference at the University of Brighton in September has been postponed due to Covid-19.

The organising team at Brighton have been working hard to facilitate an engaging and stimulating conference programme and we are pleased to say they will still be hosting the conference the following year, in the second week of September 2021.

We would like to thank everyone who submitted an abstract for the 2020 conference and are looking forward to seeing your contributions in 2021.

With this in mind, we will be opening up the 2021 conference to early-career researchers in addition to postgraduate students so that this delay does not lead ECRs to miss out on the opportunity to present their work in this community.

This also means that the elections to select new members of the PGN Committee will take place online instead of at the conference venue. A call for nominations will be sent out in the next few months, giving you the opportunity to become part of the PGN Committee. Any postgraduate student will also be able to vote in the elections to assign the new members.

In the meantime, we have some valuable opportunities regarding our postgraduate journal, Networking Knowledge. There is currently an open call for an upcoming special issue “#TogetherApart: Hypermediatization, (inter)subjectivity and sociality in the time of pandemic”, as well as chances to guest edit your own special issue or sign up as a peer reviewer. Find out more on the journal website:

You can also connect with us and other postgraduate students on our Facebook page:

We look forward to seeing you in Brighton in 2021.

Stay safe and well,
MeCCSA Postgraduate Network Committee
