Postgraduate Network call for 2011 conference
The MeCCSA Postgraduate Network (PGN) seeks applicants from post-graduate students interested in hosting the 2011 annual postgraduate conference.
Successful candidates will receive also financial support (£3000) support from the Higher Education Academy – Subject Centre for Art, Design and Media (ADM-HEA).
They are also encouraged to apply for AHRC funding for additional funds and seek support from their university in the form of reduced or waived room fees and other such accommodations.
Bids are open now to allow 18 months of planning and preparation before the conference in 2011.
Candidates should submit:
– A proposal including a description of the event
– A preliminary timetable, venue and budget
– A letter of support from their department
Applications will be assessed based on the viability of the event, as well as how well it meets the aims of the PGN. In addition, the department to which a candidate belongs must be a institutional member of MeCCSA.
It should also be noted that the event ought to be aimed towards postgraduate students only, although keynote speakers may be coming from in the academic or practice based community.
Applications and further information requests should be sent to Dr. Vincent M. Gaine, Secretary of the PGN, who will be also able to provide applicants with a copy of a successful bid for reference purposes, by Friday 1st January 2010.
