Workshop: Getting Your First Post-Doctoral Fellowship

MeCCSA-PGN held a workshop on Wednesday 27 April 2022 themed “What’s Next: Getting Your First Post-Doctoral Fellowship”. It was aimed at final year PhDs and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) who would be interested in learning about post-doctoral fellowship applications.

The workshop was organised by Liao Zhang, MeCCSA-PGN’s training officer. In all, four former/current recipients of three major post-doctoral funding schemes in the UK and Europe were invited as speakers. They included:

  1. Dr Anna Viola Sborgi, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow at the Department of Film and Screen Media, University College Cork, Ireland.
  2. Dr Linzhi Zhang, a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow at the Courtauld Institute of Art.
  3. Dr Yanling Yang, a Lecturer in Languages & Communications at the University of Exeter, funded by the Leverhulme Postdoctoral Fellowship.
  4. Dr Olivia Hellewell, an ESRC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship awardee in the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies, University of Nottingham.

Recording of the workshop can be found here.

This workshop is the first MeCCSA-PGN workshop for the 2021/22 academic session. Subsequent workshops will be advertised in due course.
