Bob Franklin

Bob FranklinBob Franklin joined the Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and
Cultural Studies
as Professor of Journalism Studies in February 2005.

He
was formerly Professor of Media Communications and Director of Research
in the Department of Journalism Studies at the University of Sheffield:
he has taught previously at the Universities of York, Northumbria,
Keele, Leeds and Sheffield.

He is the founding Editor of
Journalism Studies and a new journal Journalism Practice which are both
published by Routledge, Taylor and Francis.

He is
co-editor of a new series of books to be published by Sage, entitled
Journalism Studies: Key Texts and a new series to be launched by
Routledge in 2007 entitled Journalism, Media and Society. He is a
member of the editorial boards of various journals including Brazilian
Journalism Review, Communication Issues, The Journal of Political
Marketing and Social Semiotics as well as the websites Fifth Estate
Online and Spin Watch.
