Call for nominations for 2009-2010 Postgraduate Network Executive Committee

The MeCCSA Postgraduate Network (PGN) is calling for nominations for its Executive Committee for the 2009-2010 academic year. Elections will be
held at the upcoming annual conference in Bangor on 8-9 July 2009.

The following positions are open:

Chair
: responsible for the day-to-day running of the Network,
chairing all executive meetings and representing the Network at the main MeCCSA Executive Committee meetings.

Main duties and responsibilities:

– Representation at the main MeCCSA Executive Committee level

– Coordinating all MeCCSA PGN events

– Liasing between membership, the PGN Executive Committee and the main body

Secretary/Treasurer: responsible for keeping records of Postgraduate Network activities.

Main duties and responsibilities:
– Minute taking at Executive Committee meetings (3 per year)

– Circulating minutes to the Executive Committee

– Ensuring spending is on track

Communications Officer: responsible for planning, developing and
delivering the web-based communications of the MeCCSA Postgraduate
Network.
Main duties and responsibilities:

– Circulating calls for papers, job advertisements, and information on
upcoming events relevant to the postgraduate community

– Regularly updating the website with information on all the
activities of the PGN

– Uploading bi-annual issues of the journal ‘Networking Knowledge:
Journal of the MeCCSA PGN

Board Members: we have an opening this year for three new board member positions.
This will be your opportunity to have your voice heard and help the
officers in critical decisions they must make. Board members will aid
the officers in their roles, but will not be required to attend
meetings. These positions have not be defined yet, as we would like
the membership to help define them for us.
