Building on the success of the conference held last September
in Birmingham, the MeCCSA
held its second
national two day forum for postgraduate students. The forum debated contemporary issues in doctoral research,
such as publishing, teaching, learning and employment issues, with lively debates and discussions with speakers as Professor Bob Franklin (Cardiff
University), Professor Justin Lewis (Cardiff University),
Dr Ernest Mathijs (University of Aberystwyth) and Professor
Maire Messenger Davies (University of Ulster).

The forum provided an opportunity for postgraduate
students to present their own research, share their experiences,
and gain feedback from other postgraduate students within
the field of media, communication and cultural studies in
an informal and supportive environment. The conference was
free to attend, and pre and post social events were organised
for postgraduate students to maximise their networking time.
